THEATER IN QUARNTINE, PUPPETS, ETC.

Hi Friends. Hope you're hanging in.

I keep getting the message to slow down which, in this time that already feels like molasses, I'm finding hard to really get. But with a sprained ankle and a stiff neck and a bum knee and and and...I'm really having to learn about the strength in stillness. And I'm trying to take that lesson from my body into my life - patience, attention, gratitude for what's here. Naps.

Something I'm grateful for in this time of isolation is the opportunity to collaborate and communicate with some amazing artists. See below for the fruits of these couplings...

Theater in Quarantine: Closet Works V.9
Thursday, February 25 @7pm & 9pm ET
I've contributed a new song-in-progress to TiQ's Closet Works series, in which choreographers are given time and space to play with the constraints of an 8-square foot space. Joshua William Gelb curates and moves through three new pieces. If you haven't heard about what he and Katie Rose McLaughlin have been up to, check out their recent segment on All Things Considered.

Row

Audible Theater
Premiers April 8

One of my biggest disappointments about the shut down last year was that I didn't get to return to Williamstown Theatre Festival to do a production of a new musical. But WTF made the innovative decision to record its entire 2020 season, and you can now listen to mosts of the shows on Audible Theater. Row tells the story of Tori Murden McClure who aim to be the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic. It's an incredible show inspired by Tori's memoir A Pearl in the Storm and I'm excited for you to hear what the amazing cast and creative team cooked up!

Discourse of the Stranger
I had a very rich conversation with Rebecca Scolnick for one of three segments she's doing on Hildegard von Bingen for her gnostic philosophy podcast. Rebecca is an amazingly deep thinker and she's found a truly creative narrative form for her explorations of myth, lore and consciousness throughout history.
